1. Acceptance

By installing or using PrivacyShield, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please uninstall the extension and discontinue use. These terms apply to all versions of the extension, including free and Pro tiers.

2. Description of Service

PrivacyShield is a browser extension that detects and masks personally identifiable information (PII) before it is sent to AI chat platforms. All detection, masking, and unmasking logic runs entirely within your browser. No prompt content or personal data is transmitted to our servers at any point.

3. No Warranty

PrivacyShield is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We make no guarantee that all PII will be detected, or that masking will be 100% effective in every situation. You are responsible for reviewing the masking dialog before submitting any prompt and for taking additional precautions when handling sensitive data.

4. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, PiiBlock and its contributors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or relating to your use of — or inability to use — PrivacyShield. This includes, but is not limited to, any unintended disclosure of personal data that the extension failed to detect or mask. Your sole remedy for dissatisfaction with the extension is to uninstall it.

5. Data Handling

We do not collect, store, or transmit any of your personal data. All data processed by PrivacyShield stays on your device. For complete details, please refer to our Privacy Policy.

6. Acceptable Use

When using PrivacyShield, you agree not to:

  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the extension except as permitted by applicable law
  • Use the extension for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any third-party rights
  • Redistribute, resell, or republish the extension outside of official channels (e.g., the Chrome Web Store)
  • Attempt to circumvent or disable any security or access controls within the extension

7. Modifications

We may update the extension and these terms at any time. Changes to the extension will be delivered through the Chrome Web Store's auto-update mechanism. Updated terms will be posted at this URL with a revised date. Your continued use of PrivacyShield after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.

8. Governing Law

These terms are governed by applicable law. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of the extension shall be resolved in accordance with the laws of the applicable jurisdiction.
